Other informations

The research will start from September 2024.

This research will be conducted in collaboration with a major electronic equipment supplier for avionics. It will explore innovative avenues to improve power integrity in highly integrated, fast-switching DC-DC converters on semiconductor chips and in System-in-Package (SiP) packages for safety-critical avionics systems. The research will aim at developing an integrated approach using embedded current measurement techniques and behavioral models, when the equipment is used in the application domain. The research will be conducted at the ÉTS LACIME laboratory, in an environment that deeply values equity, diversity, and inclusion, fostering a welcoming space for all researchers.

The main objective is to study new embedded current measurement techniques at GHz frequencies and behavioral models for predicting the port-to-port coupling of transient signals in the multiport SiP system, as well as an integrated approach for mitigating the power integrity degradation. Test benches, performance characterization and automated calibration methods will be developed in the laboratory specifically for the validation of the proposed techniques.
