Additive manufacturing of reinforcements on aluminum extrusions through laser-assisted cold spray deposition.
The École de technologie supérieure (ETS) in collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) is seeking a motivated postdoctoral candidate for an innovative project focused on the application of laser-assisted cold spray deposition of aluminum alloys on aluminum extrusions. This industry collaboration project aims to make the aluminum profile extrusion process more competitive through the approach of additive manufacturing for the addition of localized reinforcements.
The successful candidate will be affiliated with ETS and will conduct part of their work there, but the majority of the experimental work will be carried out at the NRC in Boucherville. The candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative research environment, with access to state-of-the-art facilities.
Required knowledge
- PhD in materials, mechanical, physics or chemistry engineering, physics. or a related field
- Extensive experience in material characterization methods
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Any experience in cold or thermal spraying, additive manufacturing, and laser-material interaction will be an asset.
